Put in Bay Library staff of Karen, Gay, Jessica, Sue, and Lily are excited that spring has officially arrived! Sunshine, picnics, and returning friends from warmer climates are in everyone’s future! Don’t forget to stop by the Put in Bay library to check out the latest book titles, magazines, and DVDs.
Hosting Author- Put in Bay Library is excited to host the author of the Bully Book: Eric Kahn Gale, on Monday, April 3rd, in the morning! Mr. Gale will be visiting the classroom of Miss Shannon Casserlie and her fourth and fifth graders. Special thanks to Alana of Ida Rupp Library for arranging this visit.
Spanish Class-Put in Bay Librarian and former Put-in-Bay High School Spanish teacher Susan Duff will hold introductory Spanish classes. If you have wanted to learn Spanish but have never had the time,
NOW IS YOUR CHANCE! Sue will be holding beginning Spanish classes for any age that is interested in learning. Two classes are planned for this month scheduled on Tuesday, April 4th, and Tuesday, April 18th, at 4:30 p.m. Depending on the interest, more types may be added. Each class will be different, so plan on attending them all!
Sixth Grader Book Reports- If you want to hear how wonderful the sixth graders are as speakers, stop by the library on Wednesday, April 5th at 10:30 a.m. to hear the class present their latest book reports. Everyone is welcome, especially parents and friends.
Rock Painting-On Tuesday, April 11th, at 4:30 p.m., we will be painting rocks. It’s time to start thinking about spring! Join us at the Put in Bay Library and paint a colorful spring rock on your dresser or garden to brighten your day! We will have the stones and the paint. You bring your imagination and creative ideas! All ages are welcome. It is suggested that parents assist children five and under.
Movie at the Library-Families and kids of all ages are invited to join us at Erie Islands Library on Thursday, April 20th, at 5 p.m. for a kid-friendly movie that will be announced two weeks before the date. Put-in-Bay Pizza and beverages will be served.
Save Money with Coupons-We like saving money! How about you? Join Librarian Gay Pippert on Tuesday, April 25th at 5 p.m. as she explains how she saves hundreds of dollars each year using coupons available to everyone. It’s just knowing where to look! Hear her secrets of how to save money while getting the things you need. If you have paper coupons you want to share, bring them along. There will be an exchange at the conclusion of the program.
End of Life Planning-Have you meant to write a will or plan a trust? How do you go about planning a funeral? Put-in-Bay Library, in conjunction with Put-in-Bay Senior Center, is pleased to announce that Nan Burr of Burr Funeral Home in Chardon, Ohio, will be presenting an end of life planning talk on Friday, April 28th at 10 a.m. followed by general questions and answers. This event will be held at the Put in Bay Senior Center immediately following the exercise.
Summer Reading Challenge-The Put in Bay Library Summer Reading Challenge will begin on Monday, June 5th, and run for six weeks. Join us for this new and improved program filled with fun and prizes! All ages are welcome.
