Put-in-Bay Elections Offer New Choices
This coming November, Put-in-Bay island voters will go to the polls to vote in the Put-in-Bay Elections for local government and island school board officials. Suppose you are interested in a position on the Put-in-Bay Village Council, the Put-in-Bay Township Board of Trustees, or any of the three school districts on the islands. In that case, you must have your signed petitions to the Ottawa County Board of Elections by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9th.
The Put-in-Bay Elections will decide four seats on the Put-in-Bay Village Council currently held by Jeff Koehler, Michael McCann, Jessica Cuffman Dress and Dianne “Dee Dee” Duggan. Everyone is running again except for Dee Dee Duggan. Put-in-Bay Township Trustees Dale Burris and Matt Miller are up for re-election for the two seats they hold. Both have served for many years.
The Put-in-Bay Board of Education has three positions up for re-election. They are currently held by Karen Goaziou, Michael Byrnes, and Dennis “Dino” Uszak. Over on Middle Bass, there are three seats up. They are currently held by Roy Abbott, Robin Glauser, and John Glauser. On North Bass, there will be three seats for consideration in the Put-in-Bay Elections, and they are currently held by Dale Stonerook, Mary Stonerook, and James Yelensky.
To get a petition for the Put-in-Bay Elections, you can visit the State’s website or the Ottawa County Board of Elections just east of Oak Harbor at 8444 W. State Rte 163. The petitions must be filled out correctly. With the slightest mistake and they will be rejected. Candidates are highly recommended to get several more petition signatures than needed in case any are left for any reason.
