Put-in-Bay Property Taxes What You Need To Know
County Auditor to discuss real estate property taxes at Put-in-Bay Property Owners meeting-If you’re a property owner on the Lake Erie Islands, you may want to attend the Put-in-Bay Property Owners Association (PIBPOA) meeting on Saturday morning, July 12th, at 10 a.m. at the Put-in-Bay Town Hall. Put-in-Bay Property Owners Association President Jim Duffy has arranged for Ottawa County Auditor Lawrence D. Hartlaub to come to the meeting and discuss property taxes.
According to Jim, Hartlaub will have a PowerPoint presentation about property tax evaluation showing how your tax money is allocated. Hartlaub will not be there to answer specific questions about any individual property tax bills but will talk about general tax issues and recent changes in real estate tax collection.
Some island property owners had the experience of seeing their taxes go up by 200, 300, or 400 percent in one year, which is quite frustrating. Here’s your opportunity to learn about real estate tax collection and how property taxes are calculated and assessed. The meeting is open to Put-in-Bay Property Owners members and any other interested island property owners. If you want to join the PIBPOA, you may do so at this meeting.
