The Put-in-Bay Gazette Newspaper Archives in conjunction with Visit Put-in-Bay Ohio is now offering readers the ability to read select past articles and news stories from years past about various Put-in-Bay topics. Currently over 300 news articles have been indexed and more are added daily.

The Put-in-Bay Gazette Newspaper has been bringing island residents and visitors Lake Erie Island news since 1980. Editor Kendra Koehler, an Ohio State University Journalism major, started the island newspaper after moving to the island.  She named it after the original Put-in-Bay Gazette which was published weekly during the summers of 1936, 1937, and 1938.  Seeing the need to publish island news year-round, she and her husband, Jeff, began with a typewriter and copier in their island home.

When Apple started desktop publishing with the Macintosh computer, they graduated to the digital age with the first such machine on Put-in-Bay. Today, the Put-in-Bay Gazette Newspaper publishes island news, information about events and entertainment, island stories from years ago, columns from island writers and so much more. If you’re interested in the islands, islanders, and everything associated with the Lake Erie Islands, the Put-in-Bay Gazette is the way to go.

The Put in Bay newspaper articles encompasses a wide variety of subjeccon contains stories about, athletic events, awards, school functions & general information about the local school system and the achievements of its students.

The Put-in-Bay Diary offers readers a day by day overview of significant events or milestones in any given month or year, plus snippets of daily island life in Lake Erie. Each diary is dated by the month and the year in which they occurred. Our Put-in-Bay History section has a wealth of articles past and present of interest to those who wish to study or visit Put-in-Bay and see the island from a historical viewpoint.

The Put-in-Bay Island News section contains more of the headline type stories & archives about its residents and events are taken from the islands only newspaper printed monthly. Most of the major news stories that occurred on the island may be found there.

The Put-in-Bay Police news section contains news and information about actions taken, the policies of the Put in Bay police department, court cases, personnel matters, and an occasional humorous story about policing the Village of Put-in-Bay. For a glimpse of the inner workings of the government on the island, the Put-in-Bay Village Council section offers details about what actions have been taken by the local village council.
